Meet Amy
I finally decided to do it last year, I was 51 and making some changes for myself, and wanted to do something I never thought I'd talk myself into previously! It gave me a great excuse to get my nails done, finally get some nice undergarments (I've never bought anything like them before!) for myself, and really take an opportunity to explore a different side of me.
Turning 50 was just another birthday for me. However, 51 was when I started to embrace my age and became more aware of my presence, what is important to me, and letting go of things (and some people) that were not healthy. Now that I'm halfway through my 52nd year, I'm starting to emerge as a more confident woman, not taking crap from anyone, and living life for me.
I was excited about the shoot! Not nervous at all - it felt thrilling to be able to take a day off of work to spend the day just about me :)
It was a lot of fun, more fun than I thought it would be, to be honest! The space is wonderful, and I felt very comfortable. Being able to have a running conversation with Amber throughout the day was nice; it kept it casual and made the time go by without my really thinking about what I was doing.
When I saw my images,
I couldn't believe it was me! The pictures are amazing, and I have gotten so many compliments! My son happened to come in when I was looking at them online - he said "who is that?" and I said "its me!", he got a little weird about it at first, then said 'that's cool mom".
Anyone can do a boudoir shooot; it's about you, for you, not for anyone else. If you don't want to, you don't have to let anyone else see the pictures, but you can, and you should!
This is the best time; it's time to live life for yourself - even if you have kids at home (which I do), now is the time to really think about what has been holding you back, and let that go! Be open to all possibilities; you never know what is out there in the world if you don't allow yourself to be open.
