I love being 50! I feel my personal journey is just beginning. My husband was in the military and often deployed while I raised our six children. I love that aspect of my life and wouldn't change it but it was never about me. I did not have the time, money or energy to devote to myself. Which, hindsight being 20/20 was a blessing because I appreciate so much more than I did before I had a family.

I had major surgery on my stomach that left scarring and I just wanted it captured in a beautiful way so that I wouldn't think of myself as damaged. And I lost 75 pounds, lol!

I brought my daughter in law with me to my session. I always put on my brave face in front of the kids so it helped that Bryanne was with me. It was so much fun and Amber let me explore a few poses that I was interested in trying. She makes you very comfortable and truly listens to you. She not only sees you but she hears you also.

It's truly important to connect to someone that you are being vulnerable in front of. Amber makes that easy.

Naturally, I saw my flaws in quite a few of them. But as I started picking out my keepers to I noticed that the similarities in the flaws were fairly close to my favorites. It was then that I realized that It was perception. Even the ones I thought were bad were not. Society has taught us to find things that are wrong with ourselves. Amber teaches you to see the things that are right. It's easier now to get ready to go somewhere. I used to have to look "perfect" which was time consuming and stressful. Now I just get ready. I know that I look exactly how I'm supposed to.

What would you say to someone who thought they weren't a good fit for a boudoir session?

Just do it. Make an event of it. Book a hotel room, sightsee the night before, go to a nice dinner and enjoy the company of the person you trusted enough to attend and just be vulnerable for a day. It's magical to be the star in your life. Even if only for a day.

Own it.

Take time for you. As a woman in this era, we struggle with what hat we are supposed to wear when. So much change is happening. So much versatility and division. It's impossible to please everyone. So focus on pleasing yourself. Be true to yourself. Your tribe will hear your call and your path will open up before you.

You are the only person that you can guarantee will be there for you(Read that again). So make sure you nurture her spirit. Your happiness depends on it."
