Experience
Welcome! You're here because you're interested in a boudoir session with me, and I'm so flattered. My name is Amber!
A boudoir experience is something I think every woman should experience in her lifetime, at least once. Boudoir is an act of self love, self expression, and it's not self-indulgence as much as it is self preservation. As moms, as wives, as business women, as women navigating this world, we forget to appreciate ourselves. And sadly, sometimes we forget that we have power and beauty and sensuality. I'm here to help you unleash that.
I promise you, that you will feel a major boost in confidence during and after your shoot with me. Words like "life changing" and "unbelievably empowering" are pretty common around here. I work with an amazing hair and makeup artist, and from the minute you arrive until the minute you leave, you are the only thing that matters, and we are here to build you up and help you shine.
I can't wait to meet you, and work together on creating something incredible.
xoxo, Amber
You did the hard part… booking a photo shoot… a strong stance in self care and boldness.
So what’s next?
Know that you will probably feel like a studio veteran before you’ve even stepped foot inside, because I want you to know EVERYTHING before your session.
While my FAQ page is loaded with 10 years of boudoir questions, here I’ll summarize what you can expect in a nutshell.
You as a client will receive my boudoir prep guide, this helps you know what to bring, what not to bring, how to prep, how to arrive, and so much more.
You will also have a small assignment, nothing hard, that helps me get to know your vision a bit better.
On the day of your shoot you will know exactly where you’re going, what to do when you get there, and when you’ll be leaving.
Here’s a summary of that.
You arrive between 9:30 and 9:40 at my studio, where I’ll greet you at the door.
We step into my magnificent industrious elevator (think Flashdance) and head up to my studio.
My hair and makeup Artist will be there, ready to chat with you about your desired look.
You’ll enjoy the pampering time, and I’ll be with you through that process, offering you drinks, snacks, and jokes.
Once you’re ready, we will start looking through your options for wardrobe. Whether you brought items, or you are leaning on my wardrobe guidance, we will spend all the time we need trying on and determining what outfits work best for you.
*Typically, the more modest options I photograph first, just to ease you in.
Music is a must, we will be listening to a playlist, either my default hype-girl boudoir playlist, or anything else you prefer.
I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve to help you feel incredible right from the start. This is not about posing, knowing what to do, or faking a smile.
What we’re going to do is breathe, stretch, and just have fun. You are mirroring me at first, and I promise you, you are going to love love love the result. I am ALWAYS showing you the back of the camera. You need to know how great you’re doing. I can’t imagine not doing that.
There is no certain body type for boudoir. Yours is perfect. I promise you, in the thousand or so women I’ve photographed, you are not a challenge, you are not outside the realm of who I’ve photographed. You belong here.
Your time in front of the camera is so rewarding. It’s freedom. You aren’t expected to know what to do. IN fact, if you think you know… try letting that go. This isn’t about looking like someone else, or checking a box… it’s a creative endeavor that helps you truly exhale and be with your body, in a loving and freeing way.
Creativity can get lost if we’re just doing a step-repeat posing type of session. Nobody wants that. What we do is get those in-between moments, the ones that really show who you are.
We shoot for about 90 minutes.
You are leaving the studio, with a MAJOR pep in your step by 1 pm. “Exhilarating” is a word I hear from clients a lot. But, before you leave, we set a date for our remote viewing of your images. Usually 1-2 weeks out.
This is our next time together, and we go through your images one by one, while I help you narrow it down to your absolute favorites.
I don’t retouch before you see your images. You should ALWAYS have complete control of what is done to enhance your images. We have a detailed discussion about retouching before we’re done with this meeting, and there is no right or wrong answer.
You have access to payment plans, for up to 12 months that allow you to create the ideal collection of your choice. Packages begin at $899, and a typical client investment is around $3500.
Your products will be delivered directly to you, no need to make a return trip to Seattle.
What I promise to you, is that you are seen, heard, and captured in a way that reflects the beauty I see, the things you wish you saw, and the things that make you so perfectly imperfect. You are going to love the experience. I can say that with all the confidence in the world.
I want you to know - you are going to absolutely LOVE how you feel.
